Las estadísticas indican que aquí en España 'vamos a la cola de' Europa en horas dedicadas a la asignatura de Educación Física. Especialmente en educación secundaria, queda muy por debajo de la recomendación mínima de tres clases semanales.
En España vamos a la cola de Europa: • ‘Spain is lagging behind other European countries’. Is my translation accurate? I’m not sure that I’ve properly conveyed the correct meaning of ‘cola’. Many thanks in advance. |

The expression, literally means to be at the tail or at the bottom of something. Some other proposals: - Spain is far behind other European countries. - Spain is bottom-ranked compared to other European countries. - Spain comes last regarding European standards. ...
