Imitarlos

Imitarlos

Recordaba yo que el viejo filósofo lo escogió (se habla por Diógenes y el nombre can) como lo más bajo y despreciable que pudiera darse: can. Y me complacia en admirarlo por haberse dado a imitarlos para que los hombres lo despreciaran tanto como el despreciaba a los hombres. ..."
Querría preguntarles , en la palabra "imitarlos" si se refiere a los hombres .Porqué no dice imitarles?

El texto contiene como una especie de corrupción de todo lo que relaciona a Diógenes con los perros.

O sea ¿imitarlos se usa para los animales e imitarles para las personas?

Para los hombres también se dice "imitarlos".

No estoy seguro si "imitarles" es ese caso de leísmo tan difundido -excepto en Chile, Argentina y Uruguay, donde lo decimos bien- que los hablantes desorientados suelen acusarnos de ser loístas y laístas.

Creo que "imitarles" se usa en España, pero como dice Alec, en nuestros países suena más natural "imitarlos".

Después de los subjuntivos ,los ..seseismos ,ahora los leismos.... y aún me encanta su lengua.
