Cerro

This is a discussion thread for the Daily Spanish Word for August 31, 2009

cerro (masculine noun (el)) — hill. Look up cerro in the dictionary

Hay un cerro atrás de mi casa y cada vez que llueve baja mucha agua.
There is a hill behind my house and every time it rains, a lot of water comes down it.

En chile cuando alguien molesta mucho, lo mandamos " a la punta del cerro"
En chilensis sería "ándate a la punta'el cerro"

"Viejos (son) los cerros y reverdecen", say the elderly people when they mean their age may well be old, but they still have the energy and capabilities to do many things younger people do.

Nice expression, Hernán... I'll take note of it.

Yo he oído 'irse por los cerros de Úbeda' meaning to digress.

Sí María , he visto colina, y pienso que es mejor

Voy a dormir entonces soñar de las grandes colinas verdes de Irlanda. Ahí me sentaré para mirar el oleaje del mar lentamente se arrastra hacia la arena blanca de la playa bonita en la que me relajo sin problemas. ES un buen sueño para mí
