"Awake/asleep" = "Despert/adormit-ida" en Catalá.

I think you both will be fluent in Catalonian soon.

But well, exactly the words are 'despert /desperta' i 'dormit/dormida'. 'Adormit/adormida" means sleepy, while 'dormit' means asleep:

No cridis, el nen està dormit (No chilles, el niño está dormido).
Avui estic adormit, no he clucat l'ull aquesta nit (Hoy estoy dormido/adormecido/tengo sueño, no he pegado un ojo esta noche).

Ara que estic despert m'agradat molt l'expressió aquesta de "no he clucat l'ull aquesta nit"... (Peró només com a expressió, tu, que a mi m'agrada dormir tota la nit, eh) (Necessitem accents greus...perque em sembla que "peró" es greu...)

¡Muy bien, pjt! Has escrito "l·l". La mayoría de la gente (me incluyo) escribe "l.l" (es más fácil ).

l·l o l.l se llama ele geminada (o ele larga) y teóricamente se pronuncia como la ll italiana (bella, della, stella), manteniendo un poco el sonido. Digo teóricamente porque, en la práctica, la gente la suele pronunciar como una ele normal. Aún así, se mantiene la grafía.
