This is a discussion thread for the Daily Spanish Word for July 11, 2009

agotado (adjective) — exhausted, weary, drained, worn out. Look up agotado in the dictionary

Caminé 10 kilómetros y ahora estoy agotada.
I walked 10 kilometers and now I'm exhausted.

Después de la guerra muchas personas fueron muy agotadas

Durante las manañas no estoy agotado, sino energético

Si vosotros siempre estáis (¿debo usar "estéis" porque hay una poca duda con "si") atogados, os vois a un doctor, quien quizá podría te ayuda (¿quizá activa el subjunctivo?)

No estoy seguro de esto

Be careful with correspondence of subject. If you use "vosotros", you can't suddenly change it for "tú" in the same sentence.

"Agotarse" can also mean "acabarse":

Con la reciente muerte de Michael Jackson, todos sus discos en las tiendas se han agotado.

Los boletos para el concierto de U2 se agotaron a las dos horas de empezar a venderse.

Look, I don't use the words as the people normally use them in Spain, in Latin American those kind to words does not used so much, I prefer do some corrections in your post, because I didn't find sense in some parts of the text, if I'm in a wrong, please you tell me.


You changes suddenly the words in some parts that I had to correct them.
But you give me examples.
