Irse de pinta
En México se usa "irse de pinta" para communicar la idea de "skip school".
En España se decía "hacer novillos" y ahora, simplemente, "saltarse las clases a la torera". ¿Se entiende "irse de pinta" en Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Bolivia, Venezuela... etc.?

No sé de Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Bolivia, Venezuela, etc. En México también se usa "matar clase".

Yes Irse de pinta is the most used in México.
There's other slang. Andar de pata de perro. I hope don't offend my commentary.

"Irse de pata de perro" is not specific for skipping school. It's rather for going out for a ride. It's a synonym of "irse de paseo".
