Una oración de un partido de fútbol ("el fraseo" y "para que"

Hola, estaba mirando un partido cuando oí esa frase, "Una pelota corta para que venga ahora al centro"

Creo que significa "A short pass to the center" o mejor "a short pass to arrive to the center" , ¿pero por qué lo fraseó así?

Y no algo así
En corto, una pelota que viene / moverse / ir al centro

A veces no entiendo lo que está describiendo al momento. ¿Puedes ayudarme para que yo lo entienda mejor?
