Question Past participle...

Is a past participle supposed to correspond to the subject in gender and number?

My sentence is thus: La carne fue preparado perfectamente.

But my Word editor is telling me that I should use "preparada". That doesn't feel correct to me.

Who's right? Me? Or MS Word? Or is the entire thing completely wrong all together?

What looks like a past participle is being used here as an adjective. Adjectives agree in number and gender. So, your dictionary is correct.

Just as an additional datum, or as a tool you can use with your MS word Speller, is to right-click over the word, and then click the option "about this sentence" where you get the explanation on why the "Grammar checker" is suggesting you to change the spelling of the word.
(I get a lot of useful and simple data on Spanish and English basic points, by doing that... and it also gives you some additional examples.)

I saw the sentence with the participle and well just it's well said.
La carne fue bien preparada por el chef.

The meat was well made by the chef.
This is my attempt.

I hope somebody can correct me.
