Just leave the French Quebecois away from that issue. Their case is different. They have their own culture, language to preserve.....

You're welcome. And remember that "dar a luz" is more used than "parir" (which sometimes is thought to be a bad word, although it isn't at all)

I was raised in a conservative family and I was taught that "dar a luz" is for humans and "parir" is for animals. Either they're right or wrong, culturally, it's good to be cautious knowing that there are people who find the use of "parir" for a woman is not acceptable.
