Job as a Spanish interpreter/translator
Just wondering if anyone has ever had a job as a Spanish interpreter or translator. I'm just starting college, and am looking at my career choices. In my local paper, there really aren't any jobs for plain translators, but there is a high demand for bilingual people in other jobs, such as nursing, which I've been considering.

Re: Job as a Spanish interpreter/translator
I haven't, but my brother is learning Arabic for a possible job in the state dept. you won't see those jobs in the newspaper, though. I've known civil service employees who travel around the country. So my suggestion is to look at the federal gov't level. Sounds like an interesting career. keep us updated.

Re: Job as a Spanish interpreter/translator
A seconl language its very helpfull. For worker as translator, you must study a career. But if you study another thing, it's always easily to find a job if you learn spanish, for example in commercial, communication, medical care, and so on. I am a technical person in a foreign company, so I need a good language level in order to work/communicate with the central, but not so good to job as translator/interpreter.
