De la DRAE: talar tr. Arrasar campos, edificios, poblaciones, etc.

De la DGLE: talar verbo transitivo Destruir [un desastre u otra circunstancia] un arbolado, las cosechas, los campos, los edificios, las poblaciones, etc.

Aunque el diccionario diga que se puede talar un edificio, o campos, o cosechas o poblaciones, en la practica solo se utiliza talar para arboles.

Para edificios, utilizamos derrumbar o derruir (parar hacerlos caer al suelo).

Gracias Javier. Leí algunas frases con la palabra talar, y quedé sorprendido que nunca oí la palabra antes. Ahora sé porque. En general se usa el verbo talar exclusivamente para tumbar árboles
