Levantar ampollas
Quick research indicates that this means to efuriate. Is it a common term? Also, a similar term dar rabia is very common among Latin Americans I know. Is it commonly used in Spain?

I take it you mean enfuriate My dictionary suggests to get somebody's back up, which doesn't seem quite as strong.

It´s widely used in Spain:
La subida de impuestos del govierno, levantó ampollas. |
