Drug Class

How would you say........

"do not take medicines in this drug class......"

This document talks about an allergic reaction to a substance found in certain medicines. Medicines are grouped into a "drug class". For example:

Ibuprophen & acetaminophen are in the analgesic class (pain relievers)
Morphine, demerol, and anything containing codeine although also pain relievers are in the narcotic class.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Elaina

I'm not familiar with medical terminology, but a direct translation will probably work.

No tome medicamentos de esta clase (de drogas, de fármacos).
No tome ningún medicamento de los analgésicos, narcóticos etc

I agree with Sosia.
In Spain, I rarely hear medications referred to as `drogas´. Usually, you hear; medicamentos, medicinas o tratamentos. Drogas often mean hard drugs.

I agree Jane, it's the same way in Mexico. Drogas almost always refers to illegal or illicit drugs, not medicine as it can in English.

Elaina, escribe más texto para que la traducción sea más acorde.
De todas maneras sigo pensando qeu al frase
"No tope medicamentos de tipo analgésico ó narcótico" es adecuada para este caso.
saludos
