Corrientes

"Sin embargo, las corrientes antitaurinas han logrado prohibir las corridas en lás de 80 municipios de Asturias, Canarias y Cataluña. Son muchas las organizaciones que luchan contra el espectáculo, citando la tortura, el dolor y la crueldad como razones para prohibirlas."

I know that corrientes above is a noun, while antitaurinas represents the adjective, but how would "las corrientes antitaurinas" be translated?

The antibullfighting currents doesn't make sense...

Many thanks in advance.
