Levantar
How do we translate "levantar" in the following context?
My best friend me levanto a mi novia, when I went to Paris for one year. |

The Mexican equivalent: "...me bajó a mi novia"
It seems our colloquialisms here just went for the opposite. Also there is "...me voló a mi novia". "Volar" is the colloquial synonym of "robar".

¿Que sea un 'francesismo'? Robar = voler.

Uy, pues dice el DRAE que el error es mío y que "francesismo" es también correcto (por feo que me suene).
Así que no solo en italiano.
