En cuento a

I know this term is used frequently, but I stay away from it for fear of getting it wrong. Does it mean en torno a exclusively. Is there a difference in the usage or meaning?

Hi, Poli!

The expression is "en cuAnto a"...

en cuanto a

1. loc. prepos. Por lo que toca o corresponde a.

That is "in regards to" "with regard to" "as for"...

I would use it to change subject or to go back to the subject...

En cuanto a la pregunta del otro día... bla-bla-bla...

"En torno a" I would use it to tell you,

Hope this helps! :-)

Cierto, Robin: "traer algo a cuento" sería "to bring something up" y "sin venir a cuento" sería "for no reason at all".

Saludos cordiales.
