Is the checker wrong?

I have this sentence to indicate I am doing something nice for my mother, not told, but just something nice.

Me hizo por mi madre.

But when I turn the sentence into this. The online checker says to use para. Within context, do I keep the por?

Me hizo los platos por mi madre.

Before going to the "por"/"para" question, it's the whole meaning of the sentences what should be fixed first: First of all, you're conjugating the wrong person. You are the one who is doing the dishes for your mother, but your verb is in third person, so it's someone else doing that.
Also, the pronominal "me" is not well used, since it would be working as a direct object in one sentence and indirect object in the other.
Remember that using "me" does not introduce "I"; it's the verb the one that "takes" the subject with it.

"Me hizo por mi madre." -> "he/she made me for my mother"
"Me hizo los platos por mi madre." -> "he/she did/made the dishes to me for my mother".

I just noticed the hizo. Does this make more sense?

Lo hice los platos por mi madre.

But the checker hates that too. Help

The direct object pronoun up front doesn't belong in your sentence.
If you use the indirect object pronoun instead, the meaning would be closer to you having made the dishes for your mother.
Omit the object pronoun altogether to get the sentence you want (I did the dishes for my mother).

Omitting both indirect and direct objects?

Hice los platos por mi madre.
