It seems to me that a student fails to recognize the commutability of integers during multiplication.

5x8 = cuarenta

So, if you mix up the 5x8 to get 8x5, you then mix up the letters of cuarenta to get the result.

This is the funniest joke I have seen this year. Mind you, it's only 3rd January.

tarencua is the reverse of cuarenta (by syllable)

Asi para números es válida
5 x 8 = 8 x 5 = 40
pero no para las palabras
cuarenta distinto de cuataren distinto de tarencua
de ahí el chiste:

5x8=40 (cuarenta) 8x5=tarencua
