Answer: C

3. After a long, hard day at work, Mike often stops at the spa for relaxation.
*Mike - S
*stops - V
Answer: A??? Missed the two prepositional phrases. The clause you crossed out is technically not a prepositional phrase; it's an adverbial phrase.
The answer is correct, though.

4. Last week, he was angry at me.
*He - S
*was - V (being)
*me - D.O.
Answer: B Missed the prepositional phrase. The clause you crossed out is an adverbial phrase. Look at the verb. What kind of verb is it? Hint: there is no direct object.

5. The salad dressing in this restaurant tastes sweet and sour.
*Salad dressing - S
*tastes - V (being)
Answer: A You got the prepositional phrase this time. Look at the verb. What kind of verb is it? Again, hint, there is no direct object.

6. Set the table for dinner. There's a prepositional phrase. What kind of sentence is this? Does that help you figure it out?

7. Before Math class Kelly gave Alex a note.
*Kelly - S
*gave - V
*Alex - D.O.
Answer: B?? You should ask two questions. What did Kelly give? To whom was it given? Do the answers to these questions give you a different answer?
You crossed out an adverbial phrase again.

8. During the movie Matt and I ate the pizza with extra cheese.
*Matt and I - S??
*ate - V
*pizza - D.O.
Answer: B? You crossed out an adverbial phrase and didn't cross out the prepositional phrase. The answer is correct, however.

9. After the race Alice was tired and pleased with herself. Prepositional phrase needs crossed out instead of the adverbial phrase. Look at the verb. What kind of verb is it? Does that help?

10. At the beach we walked along the boardwalk during the sunset.
*We - S
*walked - V
Answer: A???
Hints given above.
