Los carteles en España normalmente dicen: Prohibido fumar o No fumar.

Menos habitualmente, dirán: No fume, No pise el césped, etc.

También: Perros no, Fotos no, etc.

Así que hay varias maneras de prohibir las cosas...

I don't recall if it was in Spain or the Americas that I saw "Rogamos que no tire los papeles en el piso" or something similar... "nos rogamos" perhaps?
