What ways can you say "hole"?
I was having trouble with this.
At what point does "hueco" be replaced by "agujero"? Like, I was reading a thread here where an example was given of a mouse escaping through an agujero in the wall. What about a hole of larger sizes? What about a hole in an article of clothing? Is it common to just say those clothes are "Rompido"? to cover all damaged clothes? And what about a hole in the ground, ie burrow? Thanks! |

"Hueco" can only replace to "agujero" when you make it on a wall to make a door or a window on it. I wouldn't use "hueco" for a hole of a mouse, I think I would say "agujero en la pared".
Past participle of "romper" is "roto". Clothes can have a hole or they can be ripped. Not all the ripped clothes have holes. A burrow is a "madriguera", for animals. There can be "hoyos" (hole, pit, hollow, grave) on the ground, too. |
