(And since I am a native english speaker, I would certainly appreciate any corrections!)

Soy artista pero no dibujo mucho. Me gusta el artista colombiano Fernando Botero. ¿Qué tipo de arte te gusta?

There's a lot of great Spanish and Latin American art. Mexico and Peru have well-documented art from way before Columbus. Arts and craftmanship are alive and well in Latin America.

Spain has been the home of some of the greatest and influential European artists from the middle ages through the 20th century. The body of work is certainly worth everyone's attention.

To start look into the works of Velazquez, Goya, Zurbarán, El Greco,
Picasso, Dalí, Diego Rivera, Kalho, Botero. Check out the architectural marvels of the Incas and Aztecs. Have a look at beautiful
Mayan sculptures.

There's lots Hector Néjera is one. Of course there's world-famous Botero, in architecture Santiago Calatrava, film Almódovar. I like the painter Antonio Berni. Although he died a few years ago, like Picasso he was active as an artist until his last years at the end of the 20th century,

All of this is a matter of opinion:
Carlos Suara is a great Spanish director and almost all of his later films which have a documentary feel to them are fantastic, Carlos Sorín from Argentina makes good movies. I love "El perro"
I think every Almodóvar movie is worthwhile. Favorites of mine are "Volver" "La flor de mi secreto" "Mujere al borde de un ataque de nervios"

Spanish language cinema can be the best, but sometimes it's awful too.
