En el cual

La frase sigue así: era un día de verano en el cual el calor multiplica por la
humedad.

La oración es sencilla, pero tengo algunas preguntas en su construcció. Para mi es siempre as palabras pequeñas que me traiciona cuando hablo o escribo español.

Yo la diría así: era un día del verano en que el calor se multiplica con el aumento de la humedad.

Quiero saber si mi versión tiene unos usos correctos y si hay algo que luce mál quiero que me corrija. Gracias.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought

día de verano = a day in summer = a summer's day
día del verano = a day in this/that (specific) summer

(You could have also said something like: "Cuando hablo o escribo español, lo que más se me dificulta son las palabras pequeñas".)

Perikles is right about "de verano" and "del verano". I think in this case "día de verano" is the right choice, since the rest of the sentence is describing a day with some typical features of some summer days.

"En que" sounded incomplete to me. You could have also said "un día de verano, de ésos en los que el calor..."

I think you were right to introduce a pronominal for "se multiplica", but "el aumento de", although it's not wrong, it's an unnecessary complement.
"El calor se multiplica con la humedad" means that the heat feels even worse when humidity is high.
