i m curious about something in spanish language..what means if some spanish person is commenting your photo with : "ahhhhaaaaaaa". What is a meaning of that, is it in positive or negative meaning? Does it mean surprising moment or u are pointing on something? Or it s something about pleasure moment?
i had to ask someone cause i don t know anyone from Spain and it s very important for me to found out what means that comment.
Thanks in advance

The actual Spanish word is ajá, but some misspell it. The English equivalent is 'aha'. The person who posted it doubled up on letters for effect.

Both words are exclamations used to express triumph, victory, surprise or, according to the tone used, contempt or mockery.

I thought it was an "ah" (pity, admiration, surprise, according to the RAE).

The problem is that you can`t know if the meaning is positive or negative. A surprise can have both meanings. It doesn`t matter if it is "ajá" or "ah".

If someone wrote that "ahhhhaaaaaaa" under my photo, I would ask him:

¿Qué quiere decir ese ahhhhaaaaaaa?

'Ah' can be extended, but the word would end in multiple occurrences of the letter 'h', not 'a'. Because the person chose to multiply the letter 'a' after the multiple h's led me to believe that they meant to write 'aha'. Why the original poster thinks the person is writing in Spanish isn't explained. To me, this is an English word; I wouldn't write it that way in Spanish (since the 'h' is silent).

Moliner gives,
¡ajá! interj. Expresa aprobación o satisfacción: ‘¡Ajá, ya sé cómo resolver el problema!’. ¡Ajajá!

Without any more context, to me indicates "approval" or "satisfaction".

It seems positive to me... but you never know 100% nowadays...

(Ahá, in Spanish, would be something people would write, specially in Spanglish or in Espanglés... or anybody somewhat acquainted with the Aglo-Saxon ways...)
