echarse el/un taco de ojo = to ogle, scope out, or look at someone who is easy on the eyes (eye candy / handsome / beautiful)(both sexes can use the same expression)
Your phrase should be written: Pues, usted ya se echó el taco de ojo y apenas estamos empezando. And it means: Well, you've already been scoping out the babes/guys and we're barely getting started. |

"Taco de ojo" can also be used literally, in other words, a taco containing a chopped up and cooked cow eye.

In which country would I find the literal version? I'm thinking Mexico, but can you also get it throughout Central and South America?

I never saw tacos of any sort in Central America.

So does that mean this expression is probably only used in Mexico?
