So I guess the cool thing to do is to make a practice thread

Practice Spanish or English here. All replies to a thread should be in the same language as the first post.

Hello, I've taken a total of 2 years of Spanish. 1 in middle school and 2 semesters in high school. I am currently taking a third year Spanish class at my local community college and will be starting college next year. I guess I'll start with a simple question.

¿Te gusta bádminton?

Pretty good, but the subject needs an article.

Me gusta jugar a bádminton.

^¿Correcto?

Sí y no.
"A ti y a tu novia os gusta jugar a fútbol" y

The same again, but in this case it is incorrect to use "a", i.e., no preposition with "practicar". (transitive verb)

Jugamos al ajedrez. Juguemos a la pelota. Yo jugaba baloncesto.

(Just did a google search and find that "jugar al baloncesto" gives 147,000 hits, while "jugar baloncesto" gives 59,700... So, if that says something... The point is that both are used.)

(One last thing... if one wants to be more of a 'gentleman' would go "A tu novia y a ti"... but I am not sure if people takes care of such 'niceties' nowadays)

Hey, I found another place where they include this data, (from DPD = Diccionario Panhispánico de Dudas)
Also,
