oh, yes snow CAN be eaten. But it's really cold. And it will melt in your mouth. However, I suggest your son not to eat snow because you never know if they're dirty or not. That will make him ill.

Después de una nevada en las montañas/en la sierra, la nieve es pura y limpia, igual que la lluvia. No hay ningún peligro en comer la nieve cuando está recién caída. Si la comes muy rápido, el frío te dará un dolor de cabeza momentáneo. Como la lluvia, la nieve tiene poco sabor.
