I´m going to take the journey acrossed the Alps next year

A journey is a longer distance than a trip.

trip, at least in Br Eng, is usually a return journey with an activity (business or pleasure)

I've got a trip to Germany next week.
Business or pleasure?

Rachel is on a school trip to Poland.

Our trip was very successful

Journey is travelling from A to B

How long does your journey to work take?

The journey (to Liverpool) was quite quick
