Pronunciation help
I have reached the preterit and imperfect tenses. It has really helped in being able to read things but has me lost with pronunciation.
Anyone know of a good web site to help with the sounds. I would like to type in llegábamos or hiciste and hear them said correctly. So far I have only found places that show the conjugation or just the verb. thanks

If you can pronounce other words in Spanish, you can pronounce all conjugations too... what's the problem you want to solve?

I agree with Angélica, but here is a site that pronounces words and sentences. Enter the text you want pronounced. Select language and voice. Select speed. Press Play.
You may also be interested in this site. Type in English text. Select the output language. Select Normal speed. Press the Translate and Speak button. Disclaimer: Although the Spanish pronunciations are good, there is no replacement for a native speaker. Machine translations can't always be trusted. |

You're welcome.
While it's true that a dictionary only provides the infinitive form of a verb, there are a couple of ways to find out the infinitive if you only have a conjugated verb to go on. I like wordreference.com and conjugator.reverso.net. On either site, you can enter the conjugated form of the verb and get a full verb chart, which includes the infinitive. You can also go to the homepage of wordreference.com and enter the conjugated verb (after selecting the language source and target). It'll bring up the infinitive's entry, as expected, but will also tell you (in Spanish) what conjugation you entered, so you can find it more easily in a verb chart. |

The University of Iowa's site, uiowa.edu, has a very good section dealing with phonetics, including graphic representations of how to produce the vowels and consonants, plus audio examples of selected words that illustrate those sounds.
