Confused

When I translate, am I supposed to put accent marks on capital letters? I have heard yes and no from different people.

Nowadays it is compulsory to put the accent on capital letters. Some years before it wasn't.

Take a look at this:

I agree with irmamar.

In former times, when writing machines couldn't put accent marks on capital letters, it wasn't necessary to do it. Still, I was taught that when writing by hand, accents couldn't be missed.
Nowadays computers can write all kinds of characters, so accent marks on capital letters are definitely compulsory.

I had never thought that it was because of the writing machines... You have a brilliant mind!
