A sentence bothering me
Hi guys,
I would like to understand exactly the sense of the following sentence, which comes from a 1712 document: Don Antonion, valenciano: que desde el año de 8 que passó a Barcelona, abdandonnando cassa y bienes, y después de haver padecido prisiones, que no ha logrado el menor subsidio, y pide pension.Did that guy spend 8 years in Barcelona, or from the age of 8? Do you understand what the text says about abandoning house and possessions ? Do I understand correctly that he spent some time in prison? This idea is a bit weird with respect to the sentence explaining that he did not receive any money from that. Thank you a lot in advance! Instanton |
