Ilusionado

I’m looking for a different way to express the sentence below. It has been taken from the paragraph underneath. My attempt is below in bold italics. Is it grammatically correct? Any other suggestions would be very helpful.

The same way less tall doesn't mean dwarfism, you can't match "menos ilusión" (not finding those possibilities much attractive or be hoping for those possibilities) with "desilusión" (having certain high hopes crushed).
