Sembrando cizaña

Is sembrando cizaña/cizañar the most common way of saying causing trouble in Spanish?
Is cizaña the most common word for weeds?

Sembrar/meter cizaña is not only to cause trouble. It's to make people fight among themselves by telling gossip, revealing secrets, talking behind someone's back...

When I was leaving for the party, my brother came and stirred things up. He told my mother I had failed the exam and she wouldn't let me go then.

At last I grabbed Juan's job. I worked up things around until they believed he was harassing me.
