"ese registro se le quedó cortó"
I saw this in today's paper and wonder if this is correct Spanish.
I think it means "this register(route or choice) limited her/him."

perfect.
well, on second thoughts, se le quedó corto, in my opinion is quite the opposite, meaning that he was much more capable than that. Last edited by AngelicaDeAlquezar; October 22, 2009 at 09:41 AM. Reason: Merged back-to-back posts |

Remember that ese registro can mean 'that register (book)/ registration (noting something) / record (what was noted) / entry (what was entered in a register) / search (police search)'. As everyone else noted, more context is needed.
