Question Build upon

Talking about a curriculum, or a series of courses,
"they build one upon the next, in a gradient scale."
How would you translate this into Spanish?
I give you some options, (If you think of something shorter, that's is what I am trying to get)
[...] se van construyendo sobre la base del [curso] anterior, en una escala de gradiente.
[...] cada uno se basa en el anterior y va aumentando [el conocimiento] en una escala gradual.
[...] van aumentando [el conocimiento] progresivamente, de forma gradual.

Creo que todas se pueden usar.

...se construyen uno encima del otro, hablando de niveles de conocimiento, por ejemplo.

No sé si la mayoría de las personas entenderían "escala de gradiente", así que yo usaría algo del tipo "cada uno se basa en el anterior y aumenta el grado de conocimiento progresivamente".

Buen punto, Angélica. "Gradiente" se usa como "pendiente" en Argentina, Chile y Ecuador, según Moliner. (DRAE da otros países también) Yo, siendo de España, la había usado en el sentido de 'escala gradual', pero estoy de acuerdo con lo que me dices.

Bueno, yo creo que ya puedo traducir 'lo que me echen'... mientras no sea un manual de Física Cuántica... que quizá se saldría de mi... 'gradiente'

Ojo, pestaña y ceja. En Chile también se usa como pendiente o declive.

Sí, el DRAE dice que en Bolivia, Chile, Ecuador, Nicaragua y Perú también tiene el sentido de pendiente o declive. Así que sí, oído, oreja y tímpano y martillo...
