Ratcatcher breeches

Tengo apuntado que "ratcatcher breeches" significa un traje de tweed con bombachos, pero no lo encuentro en ningún sitio. ¿Os suena?

breeches is an old-fashioned word for trousers - I've heard riding breeches.

Perhaps ratcatcher breeches are a type of horse riding trousers?

Breeches son los "pantalones" que se usan para montar a caballo (muy pegados, elásticos y reforzados en la entrepierna). De que yo sepa, el término "ratcatcher" es la ropa informal para montar a caballo, de ahí lo del Tweed (la tela que se usa para las chaquetas). También se denomina "ratcatcher" el estilo de camisa que se usa para montar - cerrada al cuello.

Según lo que leí es el traje tradicional que las mujeres usan cuando montan un "show" de caballos o cuando se meten un una caza de zorros--pero en particular las camisas.

Irma, tengo que decir que la frase "ratcatcher breeches" probablemente es la segunda menos usada frase en inglés. Primera es "the banjo player´s ferrari"
