Toro

This is a discussion thread for the Daily Spanish Word for September 5, 2008

toro - masculine noun (el) - bull. Look up toro in the dictionary

A veces tienes que tomar el toro por los cuernos.
Sometimes you have to take the bull by its horns.

I like this phrase. To grasp the opportunity whilst you can or to take control of the situation (instead of the bull coming to you - you go to the bull) -

I would always prefer to leave a bull alone !! They are big and have horns !!
