The O stands for 'won', but what's the full word in Spanish?

The O stands for 'won', but what's the full word in Spanish?

As part of my Spanish learning, I've decided to switch over from the web site of the English version of ESPN to the Spanish version, espn deportes. In the Portada (title page) of a team of whichever team in whichever sports league, there are 'O' and 'P' in Spanish in place of 'W' and 'L' in English. The P stands for Perdido, meaning lost. The O must stand for 'won', but what is the full word in Spanish? What word does 'O' represent?

I'm not seeing the same thing you're describing. For Wins and Losses, G and P are used. The G stands for Partidos ganados and the P stands for Partidos perdidos.

Perhaps you meant to type G instead of O.

on the left side, underneath 'Calendario 2021', the letter 'O' is used for wins. That is what I refer to. I don't know what word the O refers to. However, if G was used instead, then of course yes that stands for Ganado. Conspicuously, G is not used.

Thanks for pointing out the exact location.
Here, the O should be a G. If you hover over the O on the opposite side of the page, in the Posiciones Completas display, you'll see that a G appears. And if you click on the Posiciones Completas link in that display, you'll see that a G is used where expected as a column header.
Hovering over the G on the Posiciones page, you'll see El número de partidos ganados.
In the Glosario at the bottom of the page, the same information is given.

I don't know why O was used on the page you pointed out, since everywhere else it is a G or a V. Until led to believe otherwise, I think you've happened on a programmer error.

I also see that the programmer chose to use Derrotas for the P (clearly, Perdidos, or El número de partidos perdidos, should be the other half of the wins/losses pair). However, Victorias/Derrotas can also be used (and I did find a page that uses the letter V for Wins).

Yep, it must be a programming error. A couple weeks ago I started visiting the espn deportes website. The 'O' started appearing just the other day. Before that, 'G' was used instead of the 'O'.

I agree with Rusty. If you click on "posiciones completas", the "O" becomes "G", and there's an explanation of each title at the bottom of the table.
