Una sonrisa compradora

Una sonrisa compradora is a collocation that describes a person, generally a man, who smiles not only in an attractive way but fostering the best will and expectations towards him or her on part of the one looking at his or her countenance. How can I express that in English? In Spanish, is there any other collocation with the same meaning that I'm not aware of?

This expression isn't about being sexy. If looks and the way of smiling is to be described as sexy-attractive or wooing, the right collocation is una sonrisa cautivadora.

Una sonrisa cautivadora would probably translate as a captivating smile or maybe a seductive smile.

When you use una sonrisa compradora, could that be used to describe for example a salesperson who smiles to try to instill confidence and good will in a prospective buyer and gain rapport with them? You might try a winning smile or a confident smile but your best bet might be a persuasive smile.

Thanks both of you. "An engaging smile" sounds promising.

What about a contagious smile? People with una sonrisa compradora make you feel so comfortable and predisposed in their favour that you can't help but to smile back.

A captivating smile is definitively both una sonrisa cautivadora and una sonrisa subyugante.

Where engaging smile is certainly the best of the choices offered, a winning smileis probably more commonly used with generally the same meaning. It has an additional meaning. A winning smile can mean a smile of someone who won something, but generally it means a smile that can win you over.

That's great! I had imagine "a winning smile" to mean something slightly different. They are so effing competitive in the States, I had it pegged as an "engaging smile" with the addition of that smile getting success for its owner, what a sonrisa compradora could perfectly do, but as a side effect and not a goal.
