I would tend to think so! (I believe the story has been translated into Spanish, and I think I've seen different versions... some better than others... quite an exercise in translation!)

Well as they say in the South........"you ain't just whistlin Dixie"
I agree....."quite an exercise in translation".... since proper names shouldn't be translated even if you tried, how would you translate.....
Loosey Goosey
Chicken Little
Henny Penny
Drakey Lakey
Cocky Lockey
Ducky Lucky
Turkey Lurkey
Foxy Loxy

You're right, but in this case, if you don't translate the names, all the playful part gets lost, unless you add a footnote for each name... I don't think any kid, or grown-up would really stand that! (I believe in the Disney filmed version they left the words in English... but I am not that sure if that is the best.)

Here are some 'translations', (the 'meaning' is lost and/or gets changed, but the key is having the rhyming effect...)

Loosey Goosey = Ganso Garbanzo
Chicken Little = Pollito Pito
Henny Penny = Gallina Fina
Drakey Lakey = Pato Zapato
Cocky Lockey = Gallo Malayo
Ducky Lucky = Patita Rita (This one I just invented it, as it was not in any of the translated versions I found)
Turkey Lurkey = Pavo Barbado / Pavo Centavo
Foxy Loxy = Zorra Cachorra
