Resultar
¡Hola a todos!
Quisiera entender/saber más sobre el verbo 'resultar' y lo agradecería mucho si alguien podría ayudarme con esto (y además sería tan simpático/a, would be so kind as to?) para corregir mis errores) Es correcto que se puede traducir este verbo como 'to work out' o 'to seem' o 'to turn out to be' ? --> that turned out to be cheaper, that worked out cheaper?? 'parecer' Se traduce como : 'if he turns out to be reliable' Cuándo se debe decir ' resulta ser' y cuándo sería suficiente decir 'resulta'?

Parece means : He seems Resulta in this case means is |

¡Gracias Robin!
Hmmmm ok so 'resultar' is more often used when something actually tirns out to be a certain way, and 'parecer' more to express it seems to be in a certain way (but more often than not this is not certain (yet) I think the 5th meaning of 'resultar' is giving me the most problems because I think in that sense you can use 'resultar' and 'aparecer' interchangeably? But if you want to stress that you are not sure about something it is better then to use 'parecer' instead of 'resultar' to avoid confusion?? As for this: Aparecer, manifestarse o comprobarse una cosa: ¿ahora resulta que nadie va a ir? col. I don't quite understand what 'resulta' means in this case? 'She is not pretty but...? it works??

resultona means that despite the fact she ´s not pretty, she is somehow attactive because she is succesful with guys. But that´s has nothing to do with the verb resultar.

I think my British friends would say : ' She (still) gets pulled by guys' (or something to this effect ). Not sure if there is another espression (except 'she still gets guys' or whatever).
