Richard Thompson told this joke during one of his concerts and it was hilarious... he told it in a slightly different way, though, but with the same concept.

It's a very good one indeed!!!! but someone not knowing about how things are in Europe( Cooks,Mechanics,Cops&lovers ) wouldn't understand i think.

It's all about clichés that some people create over others, with a little or a lot of truth in them.

I find it really funny

And understanding a joke in English gives me hope and force to continue learning.

Thanks!

(But I have to say that I would loved (me habría encantado?) that spanish people had a role )

There go the spaniards? I'll take a shot...Maybe a whole redo, including all your contributions...difficult to do, but here it goes:

In Heaven:

Cops are British
Soldiers are Canadian
Beer makers are Irish
Us presidents are...wait! Any US president in Heaven?
Dancers are Spanish
Cooks are French
Party hosts are Mexican
Mechanics are German
Lovers are Italian
and Bosses are Swiss

I know I'm missing some, but I can't think of any more....contributions welcome...lol

In Hell:

Comedians are Swedish
Cops are German
Airport security guards are Canadian
Cooks are British
Trains are Spanish
US presidents are Texan...of course!
Lovers are Swiss
Mechanics are French
Waiters are Irish
and Bosses are Italian
