Bueno existe el centro de internamiento de menores y el centro de inserción social que sería para los que están en régimen abierto. COmo se les denomina en inglés, ambos son instituciones penitenciarias .

I'm sure one of them would be Juvenile Detention, probably centro de internamiento de menores. Los jóvenes son internados en el centro de inserción social, o ¿qué hacen allí?

Creo que fue un poco confusa la explicación, centro de integración socila CIS, es donde entran los presos de 3 grado, en régimen abierto, sólo van a prisión para dormir. Cómo se dice en Inglés?

Una half-way house algo parecido. No es prisión sino un alojamiento supervisado para los convictos después de servir su tiempo en la carcel. Creo que hay half-way houses para adictos tambien. Allí no están completamente libres, pero durante del día tienen la libertad de salir a buscar trabajo, o ir a escuela para aprender algo practical(I would really like to learn how to say -learn a skill but don't know the right word in Spanish. If someone could help me here I would appreciate it), etc.

I don't believe we have that here.
There are minimum security prisons where prisoners may be able to leave
jail on occasions.

There is house arrest. The prisoner may stay at home and go to designated areas wearing a tracking devices.
