¿Contexto?

How can we translate somos parejas de hecho, somebody pointed out that pareja de hecho was common law partnership, my question is how can we used this expression in context. Thanks in advance.

CAn we say:
We have a common law partnership status?
Or simply we are common law partners?

I guess you could. However, usually when I am asked if I am married, I say "yes", then if someone asks "by the church?" then I say "common law"

That's how it is used. You are married.

Hmmm. Just to throw a spanner in the works - common law marriage doesn't necessarily mean there are any legal papers.

oops - pjt33 already said that
