Talking Please check my por/para homework

Please only check the "por" y "para". I had a bit of trouble with some of these, and I think that several are a bit idiomatic. Muchas gracias!

13. Por esa época, vos todavía no habías nacido.
14. Poné esos libros por ahí.
15. Para vos es muy fácil decir eso.
17. Mi contrato termina para abril.
18. Esto no va a servir para nada.
19. Nos vamos a encontrar por la tarde.
20. Vine a la fiesta solamente para vos.
21. Fue castigado por tu culpa.
22. Está todo por resolver.

(Note: I am in Buenos Aires studying Spanish, thus the use of "vos" and the conjugations in the second person singular correspond.)

I'll let others who know what they are talking about be more specific, but what about the last one - surely that indicates purpose, thus para ?

I hope you are having fun, by the way.

The ones with asterisks you can use with both para or por, at least in Chile.

@Perikles: Sometimes "por" is used to express the idea that something is missing, and one has to do it. That's how it's used when one says "cuentas por pagar" (they must be payed), "asuntos por resolver" (they need to be solved), etc.

3. Está prohibido circular por esta calle.
4. Salieron en coche para Mar del Plata.
(This would mean that because she has a certain age, she looks fine... quite the contrary to what people usually say about someone who's already old and looks younger)
6. Carlos no sirve para este trabajo.
7. Estas flores son para vos.
8. Tus guantes deben estar por algún lado.
10. Podés conseguirlo por muy poco dinero.
11. Siempre hace mucho calor para Navidad. (I'd prefer "por" here. I'd use "para" if you were planning something to do around Christmas. Weather is nothing that's planned.)
13. Por esa época, vos todavía no habías nacido.
14. Poné esos libros por ahí.
15. Para vos es muy fácil decir eso.
(So your specific task is to be there to call him?)
17. Mi contrato termina para abril. (This sounds strange to me. I would use "en". ...Or "por" if you don't remember the exact date. I'd use "para" if it were some work I'd planned to be done by april.)
18. Esto no va a servir para nada.
19. Nos vamos a encontrar por la tarde.
20. Vine a la fiesta solamente para vos. ("You" is not a purpose, but a cause.)
21. Fue castigado por tu culpa.
22. Está todo por resolver.

Good job, Lou Ann!

Thanks, all. Perikles, I will never ignore you. Even if you ask me to do so.

Hernán - for the ones with asterisks, what would be the subtleties in differences of meaning for using por or para?

Malila - I was stuck on #5.... Your comments on #11 and #20 make perfect sense to me.

#16 is idiomatic, right? We weren't given these idiomatic phrases in class, so I looked them up online somewhere. What is the sense of saying "Estar por/para..." De hecho, I didn't understand the sentence as a whole with either, so I was essentially guessing....

#17 - I didn't like either por or para there, either. It really seemed to want an "en", but the exercise was for por/para solamente.....

In the case of #11, is not a matter of planning the weather.

Siempre hace calor para navidad.- At the time of Christmas it is always hot.
Siempre hacer calor por navidad. - By the time of Christmas it is always hot.

- I am about to call you and tell you that I cannot go.
Estoy para llamarlo...- I am (here) to call you (at your service) That's what I am here for....

Great - that helps a lot. How about #13, where you said it could be por or para....?

I guess it is as in the case of the Christmas example.

It is talking about a time, a moment in time or of the year, or one's life.

Post the correct answers as given by your teachers...

#5: You're talking about a woman who is not very young and still looks good.
If you use "por", you make her age a cause for looking good, which makes no sense, since older women are supposed to look bad.
Check definition No. 5 of "para" at the DRAE.

#16: No, it's not idiomatic. It's a future action.
Check definition No. 24 of "por" at the DRAE.

#17: I'd use "por" then, which would mean that you're not sure about the exact date.

But as Hernán says, for passing exams, write what your teachers say is correct.
