Question Rental contract - Renunciando al efecto

I'm trying to translate a rental contract for my sister from Spanish to English. the phrase renunciando al efecto, keeps appearing. What does that mean?

I found this phrase in a couple of contracts I found:

Para la interpretación y cumplimiento del presente contrato, las partes expresamente se someten a la jurisdicción de los tribunales competentes y leyes aplicables a la Ciudad de México, Distrito Federal, renunciando al efecto a cualquier otro fuero que por razón de su domicilio les pudiese corresponder ya sea en el presente o en el futuro.

Para todo lo relativo a la interpretación, cumplimiento y ejecución del presente contrato, las partes se someten expresamente la jurisdicción y competencia de los Tribunales del Trabajo de (Nombre de la Entidad Federativa) renunciando al efecto a cualquier otra jurisdicción que por razón de grado, materia, cuantía o domicilio les pudiera corresponder.
I would guess that it means something like "waiving all rights to" or something to that effect, since the two paragraphs above are both talking about waiving rights to have the contract fall under a different legal jurisdiction.

Anyone else have any idea?

as tomisimo says
The contract works only in the cited place/country, and you're not allowed to move it to another different legal jurisdiction.
For example, you rent a house in Miami but you're from Colorado. If you have a problem with the house, you are not allowed to go to Colorado's court, only to Miami's
you must "abandon your rights" of using other courts/legal advantages you must have

Bueno, en los ejemplos que puso Tomísimo es cierto lo que dice Sosia. Renuncias tus derechos en otras ciudades que no sean donde está la propiedad o ??

PERO......creo que en un contrato de renta/alquiler esa misma frase puede indicar otra cosa. Se necesita saber el resto de la frase para saber exactamente a qué estas renunciando. Estas renunciando tus derechos al....depósito de dinero, al apartamento que estas rentando, a que haya una catástrofe en el edificio abandonas tu derecho a una demanda legal? Tienes que tener mucho cuidado con esos contratos.
