Frase correcta?

Hola a todos en éste respetable Foro.
Tengo una duda sobre una frase que hace poco leí, y no sé si es correcta, razón por la que agradecería me ayuden a esclarecer mi duda. La frase es "How you doing?"
Es una frase idiomática o modismo? Yo he oído How are you? How are you doing? Pero nunca antes había escuchado esta frase.

Bueno, Rodolfo (bienvenido a los foros, dicho sea de paso ), esperemos que un nativo nos dé más datos, pero he encontrado esto en el "urban dictionary" o "diccionario urbano". (Donde se registra la jerga hablada). Obviamente la expresión "How you doing?" no es de lo más estándar, sino "slang".

Aquí te copio la explicación en inglés (viene a decir que una persona gay respondería así, en el sentido de "¿cómo está/-s?")

A popular phrase coined by radio DJ and tv personality, Wendy Williams. How You Doin?! is not only a greeting of the show, but when something or someone is very gay.

That word is very popular in a movie.
How you doing.
I have understood when I have heard some movie with that slang, the I interpret myself as Como te va.

I don't know if am in the right.
I'll stand with the perspective of a answer of some native around.
