I personally prefer the second sentence.....

wow I just learned tomar in Spanish class today!
tomar means to take.
¿Cómo te sientes? ¿Está mejor tu oído?
No, ahora está peor. Creo que debo tomar algo.

But I don't think it would work in this sentence.

solita/solito is the diminutive of sola/solo meaning alone or by yourself.
