Se luchan con los esposos....

Will someone kindly check my translation attempt?
I greatly appreciate it.

Original:
"They fight with their spouses and worry when their children get fevers. They wage office politics, dream of buying cars and, if they have enough clout, they hope to get away to the beach in the summer. When times are at their worst, as they were when famine savaged the country in the 1990s, they dream of enough food so their children won't starve to death."

Mi intento:
Se luchan con los esposos y se preocupan cuando los hijos tienen fiebre. Se hacen la política de la oficina, se sueñan de comprar carros y, si tienen bastante influencia, se esperan hacer una escapada a la playa durante el verano. En los peores momentos, así como cuando el hambre atacó salvajemente el país en los 1990, se sueñan de suficiente comida para que los niños no se mueran de hambre.

You're using too many pronominal verbs there (only the last one is right), try getting rid of them.

Marmoset, se is not meant to add some mutual or internal reference to any verb. Your use of it is sometimes agramatical.

"Discuten con sus cónyuges y se preocupan cuando sus hijos tienen fiebre. Se meten en politiquerías dentro de su empresa, ...."
