How to explain that. Well...

An example: A bus mass transit system using diesel buses is NOT 'green.'

However, a bus system using electric buses is more 'green' and gets more miles per gallon than diesel.

So I'm using the term 'green' to mean subway and bus systems using 'green' electric power.

What's how I mean it.

Gracias.

Ah, that make sense.

I'd go with

or

Apoyo el transporte público verde.

Apoyo el transporte público alimentado con energías renovables.

As an example of real-world usage, in my city the busses are painted red, but in an advertising campaign about the use of biodiesel they used the slogan, "No pienses que eres daltónico. Todos nuestros autobuses son verdes".
